From Russian Anzacs in Australian History:

Lithuanian or Ossetian names underwent particularly strange permutations. Kaz-Bulat Gusaloff from the Caucasus was enlisted as Kaenolatr (later ‘corrected’ to Kaspolet) Gusloff; it is only from a note in Russian attached to his will that it is possible to work out what his real name was.
