Retracing & the healing crisis Nature
Cure / Repressed conditions
/ Chronic disease results through a build-up of toxins. The body cells have a memory of past illnesses and retracing is the process of re-activating, and working through these illnesses. When a disease isn't worked through properly at the time, an element of latency or repression occurs eventually leading to loss of vitality, a sub-standard state of health and eventually diseases of a more insidious nature. The various phases of disease are acute, sub-acute, chronic, sub-chronic and degenerative which are represented in the iris in changes of colour from white (acute) to dark grey (chronic) and degenerative (black). Chronic lesions are formed over years of wrong living. A permanent cure doesn't occur apparently, until the disease process is retraced back through the various stages in the reverse order that the disease developed. Reasons
for disease are many including faulty nutrition. There are various nature cure techniques including:
"In iridology we do not determine disease names from the iris, but we do recognise toxins--whether they are developed through the intestinal tract, or as nerve acids, catarrhal discharges, excess fatigue acid, or carbonic acid. These toxins are the breeding ground for the various kinds of germ life. If all toxic acids, gases, and accumulated pus are eliminated from the body, and a clean body is the end produce, how many disease germs would stay and how little work would the doctors have to do in diagnosing and treating?" "Many forms of diagnosis are dependent upon what germ life exists, and its existence in the body usually indicates a bad state of deterioration. Disease germs are nature's undertakers" -- Bernard Jenson, The Science and Practise of Iridology "We start at the age of two with the acute condition represented in white [in the iris]. At the age of eleven the condition develops into the sub-acute stage, represented in grey. The darker grey represents a chronic state of affairs at the age of 28. The very dark grey at 36 is the sub-chronic stage. After the age of 36, the darkest stage is complete degeneration. "We show here how disease is developed, how the accumulated effects produce certain symptoms in the body, and how the reversal process brings back the troubles of the past." -- Bernard Jenson, The Science and Practice of Iridology.
"Diseases normally disappear from within outward, and in the reverse order of their
coming. -- Bernard Jenson, The Science and Practice of Iridology.
A healing crisis typically comes at a time when a person feels at their best and the body has built up a certain amount of energy, required to perform the task of elimination of toxins. At the time of a healing crisis the organs of elimination are said to be working in good order. Manifestations typically include:
Healing Crisis vs Disease Crisis
"It is difficult for the average person and the for the average doctor to tell the difference between the healing crisis and a disease process. Though usually the manifestations are similar, a healing crisis is brought about through an accumulation of health in the body, and the active healing power carries the person through. It is difficult to accept the fact that a healing crisis comes right after a patient is feeling his best. Invariably a patient says, "I have never felt so well in my life." This is the time you can usually expect the crisis and is the time when the crisis can do its best work.
"One crisis is not always enough for a complete 'cure'. "In looking over the whole process, consider that disease is an eliminative activity of the body. If we believe that the body is consistently trying to remain well, we believe that even the process of disease is an eliminative process; and we should do little to interfere because the body is fighting for supremacy over the disease. It is well to know that even disease can be looked upon as a 'cure' by allowing it to run its course and by giving the body every opportunity to recover of its own accord." -- Bernard Jenson, The Science and Practice of Iridology.
About Fever "While in the past it was considered dangerous to have a fever and anything to get rid of the fever was considered sound practice, now we find it helpful to induce fever. "Many of the schools of thought who formerly advocated suppressing fever, are today changing their ideas and are using fevers as a help towards getting a person well."
Suppressive treatments are those that eliminate symptoms without acknowledging the cause of the problem. " Unwanted organic matter which incidentally provides a favourable soil for infection by micro-organisms, is removed in various ways and all the organs of elimination are used -- bowels, kidneys, lungs and skin. Catarrh and eczema are examples of such an operation involving elimination through the mucous membranes and skin. " Suppression leads to degeneration "No attempt should be made to SUPPRESS such symptoms. To do so only invites trouble of a more serious kind in the future. "In fact the suppression of symptoms is responsible for some of the degenerative diseases in later life e.g., rheumatism. Rather, we should assist the body in its periodical spring-cleaning and this can best be done by a period of rest and warmth and the lightest of diets. In fact, abstention from solid foods for a short period can make an important contribution." The Biochemic Handbook
"Numbers of people are unknowingly suffering from the cumulative effects of SUPPRESSIVE treatments to which they have been subjected in the past - medical drug poisoning - and, in such cases, response to biochemic treatment may be slow. "If little no benefit is apparent after a reasonable period of treatment with the remedy indicated by the symptoms, the system can be rendered more responsive by a short anti-toxic course consisting of the two remedies nat. mur (homeopathic sodium chloride) and kali sulph (potassium sulphate). The Biochemic Handbook In iridology the scurf rim is the outermost border of the iris. Bernard Jenson maintains the scurf rim is a reliable indicator of retention of wastes in the body. A heavy scurf rim signifies a retention of morbid waste in the body. A wide, dark, deep scurf rim opposite any particular organ area indicates that organ has the greatest amount of acid, catarrhal, and morbid waste retention. It is also a definite sign of a SUPPRESSED condition in that organ.
A dark scurf rim in the area of the feet, for example, could be the result of having SUPPRESSED chronic perspiration of the feet.

Dr. Julie A. Wilczynski, N.D. Traditional Naturopath
"We heal from within out".
"We heal in reverse order as the symptoms have appeared or been suppressed".
Unfortunately, Hering's Law Of Cure is not used today in Orthodox medicine. Orthodox medicine generally believes that because the symptoms are suppressed the problem is cured, or by removing the organ, which is not functioning correctly, it can cure the problem. Perhaps this is why no one knows what a "Cold" is today. A "Cold" is the body's way of eliminating toxins, which it does by increasing the mucous from the mucous membranes in order to free the toxins. Toxin elimination is imperative in order for the body to stay healthy. Disease reversal is also imperative in order for the body to "cure" a disease.
