63 After Completion
|
If we XOR hexagram 63 with any hexagram we will derive a description of that hexagram's 'complete' form, their 63-ness, where all is in the 'correct' place and the focus is on a purpose that is thus described by analogy to an other where this description is the closest one can get through reference to some other form; thus, for example, the complete form of 28 is described by analogy to the GENERAL, VAGUE, energy-expending nature of 54 (011110 XOR 101010 = 110100) - and the same for describing the complete form of 54 by analogy to 28.
It is the traditional focus on the line structure of 63 representing a template for all lines being 'correct' or 'not correct' that reflects detecting the 'complete form' of a hexagram and using XOR allows us to reveal in detail what the ancient perspectives were trying to communicate.
The 63-ness of 28 is described by analogy to 54, as is the 63-ness of 54 described by analogy to 28. Both 28 and 54 cover notions of high energy expenditure, be it general excess or the going beyond what is required to aid someone, or the initial energy expenditure in the beginning of something, be it intentional or demanded by context (and so the inclusion in the meaning of 54 of the notion of immaturity.)
Here is a list covering these sorts of pairs where the list is ordered in the binary sequence (111111 to 111000 - covering the Heaven octet - I have made some annotations to start off with to get the 'idea') - it is followed by the full list of '63-ness' for all hexagrams:
01 / 64
111111 XOR 101010 = 010101 - the main focus of pure yang is that it is a realm of perpetual mediation, of perpetual practice, training, development, of skills and as as such 'never stops'. This sense of 'never stopping' is a fundamental property of 01 and is reflected in analogy to hex 64 with its focus on remaining open, on being prone to small 'errors' and so in need of eternal practice to make things 'right'.
010101 XOR 101010 = 111111- the main focus here is the description of the 'complete' 64 by analogy to under-played characteristics of 01 - the sense of 'eternal mediation', mis-sequencing requires practice and as such is never 'complete', or more so, its complete form is a focus on eternal motion.
43 / 40
111110 XOR 101010 = 010100 - the complete form of 43 is described by analogy to the under-played characteristics of 40, as is the complete form of 40 described by analogy to the under-played characteristics of 43. Thus the sense of intense promotion, of 'spreading the word', is associated with hexagram 40s focus on tension release through the relaxation of structure.
010100 XOR 101010 = 111110 - Conversely, the complete form of 40 is described by analogy to the under-played characteristics
of 43.
14 / 06
111101 XOR 101010 = 010111 - The focus on being the centre of control and directing operations (14) is described by analogy to the under-played characteristics of 06 with its focus on mediation but in a competitive context. In a 'business' sense this is dealing with the competition firmly but not going too far, nor giving way too much.
010111 XOR 101010 = 111101 - Conversly, the complete form of 06 is described by analogy to the under-played characteristics of 14.
34 / 47
111100 XOR 101010 = 010110 - The focus here is on the invigorating nature of 34 being described by analogy to the under-played characteristics of 47.
010110 XOR 101010 = 111100 - Conversly, the complete form of 47 is described by analogy to the under-played characteristics of 34.
09 / 04
111011 XOR 101010 = 010001 - The focus here is on the small gains of 09 being described by analogy to the under-played characteristics of 04.
010001 XOR 101010 = 111011 - Conversly, the complete form of 04 is described by analogy to the under-played characteristics of 09 - with the focus on socialisation through education in the form of making small gains to eventually become 'noticed' etc.
05 / 07
111010 XOR 101010 = 010000 - The focus here is on networking and so the associating with 'likeminded' whilst awaiting the moment for action - described by analogy to 07.
010000 XOR 101010 = 111010 - Conversly, the complete form of 07 is described by analogy to the under-played characteristics of 05.
