The Corps
The Australian Army's Corps of Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RAEME) provides maintenance support to the Australian Army. The Corps provides repair and recovery support for all equipment operated by the Army, including aircraft and watercraft.
The Corps Banner
In December 1981 approval was granted in principal for the Corps to be granted a banner and in November 1982 His Royal Highness, The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh agreed that the Banner be known as The Prince Philip Banner. The 'Prince Philip' Banner was presented to the Corps on 20 May 1986.

The Corps Centrepiece
The production of a RAEME table centrepiece of sterling silver was first suggested in November 1977 and a silver smith was commissioned to produce the centrepiece in 1981. The centrepiece was presented in September 1982. The centrepiece has a role at formal functions with units being able to apply for its use at their formal functions.
The Craftsman Memorial
A memorial to commemorate the craftsman is located at the park opposite the Army museum at South Bandiana. The Craftsman Memorial includes a statue of a craftsman at work which is the centerpiece for the memorial. The memorial was dedicated on 24th Oct 1998. Photographs of the memorial are included below.

The Corps History
The Corps of Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (AEME) was raised on 1st December 1942 and was later given the honour of adding 'Royal' to it's title (RAEME). The Corps history project was created as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations for the Corps (1942-1992). The Corps history was researched by a professional author, Mr Theo Barker and was published as 'Craftsmen of the Australian Army', 'The Story of RAEME' in three editions including a leather bound, gold embossed and cased edition, the hard backed limited edition of 250 copies serially numbered and signed by the Corps Director and the hard covered standard edition.
The RAEME Craftsman Magazine
The Corps magazine was introduced in December 1978 and since that time there have been issues forwarded to serving and ex-serving members of the Corps approximately every six months. There have been a total of 52 magazines to date (2005). The current issue is number 53 and there were two issue 9 magazines. Issue numbers 37 and 38 have been skipped.

Drumhead Service. The Commemorative
United Drumhead Service was a Golden Jubilee year event in 1992. The
concept was centered around a RAEME pilgrimage to the War Memorial for a
commemorative service to honour members of the Corps who have died on active
service. This article was published in Issue 26, May 1992.
