ACT Social Events/Activities

Anzac Day – April 2012  

The association is including a contingent in the march again this year.  The march commences at 10:40 (form up at 09:45 to 10:15). This year we are contingent number 41. The RSL web site at http://actrsl.org.au provides full details from the “Diary” page, ANZAC Day links.

As for previous years it is planned to gather at the Mercure Canberra (Olims) Hotel on Ainslie Ave following the march for a light lunch. Snacks will be provided and depending on the attendance members may be requested to contribute to a maximum of $5.00.

Informal Dinner Function – May 2012  

It is planned to hold an informal mixed dinner at the Ainslie Football Club on Saturday 26th May from 18:30.  The association will book a table area and meals are reasonably priced and are individual order / buffet style.  If you wish to attend it is requested that you contact me by email or phone (lgwedd@optusnet.com.au or 0403 195293) by Monday 21st May to assist with table bookings.  If you are uncertain by that date then late returns or arriving on the day if unavoidable is OK. 

 

This is planned to be a very informal event and there will be sign-in arrangements made at the entrance to the club for those who do not have club membership.  

Luncheon – June 2012  

The association is having an informal luncheon at the Mercure Canberra (Olims) Hotel on Ainslie Ave on Wednesday 20th Jun as a casual mid year get together. The luncheon timing is from 12:30 and the hotel meals are very reasonably priced and are individual order / buffet style. We hope you can attend and look forward to seeing you there.

Ongoing Monthly Gatherings

We have been holding monthly casual get togethers.  We have not missed one yet over the last several years however the attendance has been disappointing. This year it will be on the last Tuesday of each month at 19:30 at the Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club (excluding December).  If you can get away then just turn up for a relaxing drink and talk.  Look forward to seeing you there. 

Other Events

This year is the Corps 70th birthday so we encourage you to come along to events during the year. We look forward to seeing you on ANZAC day and other events during the year and we will forward email reminders for these and also for other ad-hoc functions. Further correspondence will be forwarded for planned functions during the latter half of the year.
