My first Japanese Spitz was Sheena (CH Lacebark Sno Mist CD). Sheena was the first Japanese Spitz in West Australia, and the first to obtain her Australian Champion Title and Companion Dog Obedience Title. She was also the first Japanese Spitz to win a "Best in Show".
Sheena loved life and would learn new commands quickly. Only trouble was that once a command was mastered she did not believe in having to repeat the procedure and became quickly bored. Her best performances in the obedience and agility rings were when she had no training for at least a month prior to a trial--it would be all fresh again and she would like to prove she remembered, hardly putting a paw wrong and achieving remarkable scores. The next day would be different and judges would berate me for not training her enough when she would barely score enough points to pass each exercise. Such is the joy of owning a Spitz.
Sheena was a devoted companion and gave me many years of happiness.
