Tinners Muster Roll - a military muster listing able bodied males of military age engaged in the tin industry, and the armour they could supply for the national defence

Subsidies - these were taxes, generally levied only on the wealthier members of the community.  A number of the subsidies levied in the early 1500s, however, which had very broad application, and were levied on all but the very poor.  Assessments were based on the value of an individual's goods or income, whichever would yield the highest amount.

Cornwall Muster Roll 1569 - a military muster listing all males of military age and the armour and weapons they could supply for the national defence.  Individuals were expected to make provision in accordance with the value of their land and goods.  The equipment possessed by each individual is therefore an indication of social standing.

Protestation Returns 1641 - all males aged 18 and above were required to pledge their allegiance to the Church of England.  Lists were compiled consisting of the signatures or marks of those who did so, as well as the names of those who refused to sign.
