STEPHEN LOMASNEY

MY PERSONAL HOMEPAGE

Welcome to my homepage

I am the first Lomasney in Australia to have a homepage. I taught myself how to do them, then a good friend, Mick Newnham, showed me some more advanced techniques. Thanks Mick, for all your help.

I don't have many photos of myself. As an amateur photographer I invariably spend more time behind that camera than in front of it. This is not a very good photo of me. It is my passport photo taken in March 2000 by my local photo processing shop on a Kodak DC50 digital camera and printed on a digital printer.

LOMASNEY FAMILY HISTORY

I have been researching the Lomasney family for many years. I sent my research to John Lomasney in USA. We collaborated on a Lomasney Family History website (see my Links Page below).

John kindly dedicated our website to the memory of my late son Nathan Daniel Lomasney. Nathan was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident on 9 February 1999, only a few weeks before what would have been his 22nd birthday.

The Lomasney Family History website has put us in contact with many Lomasneys around the world and we have all become good friends on the internet.

JOHN LOMASNEY'S PHOTOS OF IRELAND

John Lomasney, who manages the Lomasney Family History Homepage, visited Ireland in May 1999. He took a series of beautiful photos of people and places related to the family.

To download a Word (.doc) file with John's photos, click on this link and save the file with a ".doc" extension (ie: the saved file should be called "johnfoto.doc"). It is 1.2 meg, but good to print.

MY FAMILY HISTORY PHOTOS, INCLUDING "SUMMER HILL" AT CASTLEMAINE

The original Lomasneys in Australia ran a farm called "Summer Hill" at a place called Glenluce in central Victoria. The nearest main town is Castlemaine, 20 kilometres north of the property. These photos are primarily ones of my visits to "Summer Hill" in March 1983 and November 2000.

MY PHOTO PAGES

SOME OF MY FAVORITE PHOTOS

Poppy, September 1989.

Gibralter Falls, Canberra, Australia.

Kuching, April 1992.

SOME OF MY OTHER PHOTOS

Some Photos of General Interest.

Most of these I had scanned by my photo service before I had access to a scanner. I am paticularly fond of the ones of my late son, Nathan.

Poppy's Gallery

This was Poppy. She was a great little companion. Unfortunately she had to be put down at 28 minutes past noon on Friday 11 December 1998. She was a good photo subject and seemed to like having her photo taken.

Fishing Photos

During 1999 my neighbour, Peter, taught me how to fish. Thanks to his instruction I have had many happy and relaxing hours. I now carry a small camera when I go fishing. I post photos of my fishing trips here.

The Noisy Penguin

Penguins are short, have funny squat legs, cold flat toes and small chests (ever hear of a "greater chested penguin"?). They have no necks or shoulders. They always display the happy, dorky countenance of the profoundly stupid. Most outstanding feature - a huge wide bottom. Must look odd undressed? While they resemble nuns, they squabble incessantly over anything, and indeed nothing at all. I knew someone like that! They are very funny. Here are my penguin photos.
