Grace has made plants her life, with over eight hundred registered hybrids. The garden contains a large variety of rare, exotic and tropical bromeliad plants, with newly developed hybrids waiting to be named. Grace has always promoted the Bromeliad Societies both here and overseas. She is a life member of many Bromeliad Societies and is currently on the Management Committee of the Sunshine Coast Bromeliad Society. At the 14th and 15th World Bromeliad Conferences she had Grace Goode Awards for the Show Results Best Cryptanthus Horticultural and in St. Petersburg, Florida on May, 2002 Cryptanthus Society Awards Grace Goode Silver Ingot Award Best Cryptanthus Horticulture were presented. Grace Goode was recognized for her Service to Horticulture through the culture and hybridization of bromeliads and awarded the Order of Australia Medal in the 2004 Australia Day Honours List.
